Strange Wistle

Hi Guys,
i own a Ford Courier van 2001 TDI 1800,its like a Fiesta,the van is running well but it has developed a strange whistle or maybe a sucking sort of noise,it only makes this noise when you make the van work hard,for eg when pulling hard up a steep hill
any ideas what it might be,any help gratefully received

Turbo whistle, due to air pipe coming off or no air filter. Just check for a bad joint on the intake piping

Could be a split in a hose, had to replace the intercooler to egr valve hose on my mondy last year.

Hi Spark 123,
i dont think my little van has an intercooler fitted,i think the fault will be a air leak on the turbo,thanks for your reply
