Stretcher marks on carpet

hi,

The carpet fitter who just installed our carpet claims that these are “normal” marks.
For me it looks like the stretcher did not grip the backing properly and ripped the top surface.

What do you think?
Can this be fixed?

Have you tried vacuuming yet. If it were the carpet stretcher, then there'd be a lot more scratch marks than that, and they tend to push towards the wall, not at an angle.
 
They are sadly all around and the carpet has been in a few weeks, and vacuumed a few times :(
Just did not want to post too many pictures, so chose one
 
Then I would get them back in to check for faulty carpet; those marks are not "normal" under any circumstances.

Those are completely normal stretcher marks.

Does your vacuum cleaner have a beater bar or beater bar attachment?
