Strimming safely and what cord?

The Aldi multi-tool, is petrol, and you need the harness due to weight, the Lidi is battery, and for me the harness is too short, but since the machine is lighter I don't have a problem, I still have the old mains powered strimmer, and now I have a socket down the garden, no reason not to use it, but so much easier with battery powered, I don't bother.

But 40 volts is a lot more than many strimmers use, and I can with two batteries work for ¾ hour to an hour, and I have 4 batteries, by the time second set are discharged, I do need a rest, but putting the first two back in after being on charge for ¾ hour gives me a bit more, so around two hours before forced to have a break (battery charger does two batteries together) there are larger batteries in the Lidi range, but after 2 hours strimming I am about done in.

But with units only taking one battery, I can see a problem changing them all the time. Specially, if you can only charge one at a time.

For what it's worth, I find that the square section strimming line (2.7mm) is better than standard stuff.
Not so generally available, but Stihl and Husqvarna do it.

Funnily enough, the Oregon Duoline I have is in slightly different packaging but was definitely lubricated with something as it has an oily finish.

Absolutely wear goggles. Dog poo, stones, even bits of line fly back fly back fast.
