Please bare with me, laptop waiting to get fixed so using my phone to add this post, so no picture at the moment. I am about to tile my bathroom walls with white tiles 33cm by 25cm, going to be doing them in a brick effect pattern. I will be using a boarder made up from black gloss tiles 10cm by 10 cm. As the black tiles will interrupt the brick effect, i am unsure when i carry on the brick effect should the next row of tiles be staggered or in the same position as the last row of white tiles.

Hope the words below make sense to someone.

Sorry, that really doesn’t help to visualise what the effect will be at all  .

Brick weave can work really well, my own kitchen is done such but with 10 x 5 cm matt black tiles; but them’s fairly large tiles & I’m really not sure about interleaving those large black tiles with such a large black border, where did you get the idea from? I’m all for being a bit brave & colours/patterns are very much personal taste but what you need to consider is how long it will stay in fashion (is it now!) & it will it appeal to any future purchaser; my advise is to keep it simple.

the pattern you want is the first one to look "brickwork like",although having said that,i personally am not a fan of that style when glazed tiling.
