Hello,
I live in a terraced house with a large bathroom in the outrigger above the kitchen at the back. I am looking to add a stud wall in my bathroom going across with the actual bathroom behind this. There is a window at the back.
I would possibly add a roof light into this initial entrance bit to let in more light to the hallway with the original door removed and a door placed into the stud wall.
I have a couple of questions about building regulations - do you need to notify building control and have them inspect a stud wall that is put up like this? I understand there are regulations regarding sound insulation, are there any others to be concerned with?
Electrics and plumbing would be carried out by tradespersons.
I have looked on the planning portal website but it does not seem very specific so thought I would ask here to get more information.
