I'm building a non structural stud wall. I've read a few guides which specify different nails (3.75*75 and 4.5*100 - I don't have a brad) and also 3 by 2 or 4 by 2 studs. What would you folks use?

I always go with 100mm x 50mm (4" x 2") unless space is tight. 75mm x 50mm (3" x 2") is acceptable as is 50mm x 50mm (2" x 2") but a bit spindly for my liking.

Use screws, i.e. 100mm x 6's to fix any uprights to the masonry walls and 75mm x 4's for skewing uprights to the top and bottom plates.

4 by 2 and 75mm x 4 makes sense. I bought 100mm by 4.75 originally but they're far too bulky. Got some good 100mm frame fixing screws.

Thanks for all your help guys!
