Hi people

What kind of fire could i have on a standard cavity wall (external) that has no previous fireplace there?
Would it cost a fortune to have a gas one installed with no gas pipe run here from a previous fire?
Would itneed an external flue no matter what type i got?

Regards

Flueless gas fire? I wouldn`t fit one but they can be installed.

Is there such thing as a nice looking (as in not cheap) modern and efficent electric hang on the wall type fire.
They all look a bit too fake!

good because your not qualified

you`re not qualified, if one may correct you. Seems English literature is not a requirement to be qualified, don`t you do paperwork and suchlike? must be hilarious to the customer. ``yor gas fire as passed inspektion``

Electric fires are never cheap, what do you want exactly a fire or a picture? or a picture of a fire that looks like a real fire which in reality wouldn`t be hung up on a wall?

I mean a realistic looking flame

Well apart from the ones that actually have a picture of real flames on a wall hung screen/fire surround, you can always light your wallpaper, it doesn`t get more realistic than that to be honest.

yes they all look fake because they are. There's only so much you can do with lights to make them look like fire :? but..electric fires have the benefit of being cheaper to install, safer, efficient as no heat wasted through flue, and require no annual service. If you want a gas fire, than go for a balanced flue. Obviously you'll need to get an RGI to install you a gas supply, fit the fire and service it every year.

Valor make a fire with a holographic flame....looks about as realistic as 'fake' can be. It's going on the new condensing back boiler.....for sale 1st sept......bet you're all excited at the prospect.......

Oh and Legion.......

.... I was taught that you used a capital letter after a question mark......people who live in glass houses and all that....

Oh is an exclamation which should be followed by an exclamation mark:

Thus: Oh! Bye.
