both are extremely hot

are the pipes to the cylinder cold ?

the pipe from the silver box going to the cylinder is hot.

2 pipes are luke warm (emersion was switched on an hr ago)

the others are cold but we believe them to be inlets

the pipes from the white box do not go into the cylinder

yes, auto and manual/open

from the silver box the primary flow into the tank has been hot. the one that seems to be hot now is the pimary return.......but as we speak it has gone cold.

To be honest all seems well to me in the *airing cupboard*........while i was waiting for your post i went to the boiler downstairs and to turn try out the taps and noticed that it is not firing when in the *ON* position for the hot water. But it does fire up when turning the CH on.

silly question is the cylinder hot ie has the stat switched over

No the tank does not feel hot but that is probably because of the cladding/casing

thermostat should be on the cylinder

run the water is it hot

there does not to appear to be what i would call a thermostat but then i am a newby......there is however a temperature screw on the control panel on the cylinder
