surge protector activated

Hi all,

my TV,Sky,DVD,router + VCR were all fed from a Masterplug SurgeGuard 8-way extension, only 2 months old.

Whilst upstairs on my Pc, I heard an alarm & found it to be the surge unit. Both the earth and surge led's were off. Done a quick check of the plug, wiring & fuse and all ok but it still sounds it's alarm when switched on.

I can't understand why the Pc didn't play-up when it's on the same ring.

Has anyone else ever experienced this, or think that maybe the unit's duff?

read the instructions and see when its meant to sound an alarm. It may have blown its surge fuse, having just blocked a surge. Maybe your PC is better at handling surges than you thought.

Careful though - my grandad lives in an area where there are a lot of surges, and he blew 2 motherboards before they realised the problem.
