Hi all
I am installing a suspended timber floor in my new workshop.
I am using 4x2 joists supported at 1.6mtr spacing on sleeper walls.

As the joists will be fixed to the sleeper walls, do i need to put in noggins? and if i do how far apart? My floor is 5mtrs x 15mtrs.

second question: I am using 22m flooring chipboard do i need to glue the tongues and should i fix it to joists or leave it floating?

also what paint can i use on the chipboard?

Thanks

Mike

Don't forget the dpc under the sleeper wallplate

No need for noggins, joists centre should be no more than 400mm centre

Glue all T&G joints and use chipboard screws into the floor joists

They are loads of difference type of floor paint products including non-slip. I don't know what the workshop is for but plywood will be a stronger floor and will need noggins on all the joints

Thanks
Its a carpentry workshop so some heavyish tools but not too bad.
