Feels a bit like overkill for a lamp. Will probably just buy a rechargeable one and leave the socket as it is in that case.

You can install an RCD socket as your fuse box does not have an RCD.

I don't think I've ever come across 6A type 2's before.
I've always assumed the change from 5A to 6A happened at the same time 'type' changed from numbers to letters.
