swapping files and info from laptop to laptop

Just wondering the easyest way to transfer files from 1 lap top to another,,,,1running xp and second running vista any help appreciated...

If they are small a usb stick. How large are the files?

Crossover cable cheapest way. Assuming both machines have RJ45 ports.

USB memory stick gets my vote. Easiest by far.

cross over cable was the easiest thing for me when i had to do it.

depends on file sizes and what not.

burning 4.8gb to dvd could be the answer, would give you a back up too.

Another vote for memory stick here.

Or CD Rom assuming they both have burners/players and the files are BIG.
