You need to give a few more details than that. Otherwise advice is let the thermostat control the temperature. What are you after?

Existing boiler is a dying Laars XL with HX built in.
Pool pipe work is connected directly to boiler outlets.
The boiler is controlled with thermostats linked in to pool and filtration system.

Customer wants a new boiler asap.
The pool engineer want us to install an oil boiler with approx output of 55Kw and connect it to an independent HX.

They would then use existing pool controls and wiring to control to run boiler.

I have spoken with tech at Grant boiler, and have been advised to convert boiler to a seal system, no problem there.

They were concerned that there would be no means of dispersing excess heat from the boiler when pool system got to temp and turned boiler and pump off.

They mentioned fitting a header and a pump over run.

Not to sure what controls are actually needed, or how it works.

Have done a few and always change them so they have a seperate heat exchanger . Usually 100kw type then its easy to have the sealed system.

Then you can wire the pump directly to the boiler so it can over run for as long as it wants.

Don't forget that the oil tank has to be bunded as it not heating a house!

needs to be bunded anyway regardless ;)

yes a heat exchanger and a sealed system is the way to go. a stainless plate even better.
