I want to connect an ornamental garden water feature to the lighting circuit in a garden shed. It has to be the lighting circuit because that's all there is, run from a 6A MCB (without RCD protection) from the house CU. The water feature draws milliamps so I intend to put a 1A fuse in an FCU. I also want to be able to turn the water feature on/off so I would really like the FCU to be switched. Please could you tell me if there is such a device as a switched FCU with 30mA RCD? I don't want to fit a switched socket because then someone might be tempted to use it for something other than the water feature!

Thanks in anticipation.

I'd already looked at these (and the other RCD protected FCUs) sold by Screwfix but I'd assumed that it wasn't good practice to use the RCD test button as a switch. Am I wrong? (The water feature will probably be turned on/off every day.)

I have seen an RCD FCU with an integral switch but can't find any at the moment. Could you wire a normal switch after the RCD FCU?

Yes I can, and if I can't source a switched FCU with RCD then that's what I'll do. I just thought it would look neater (and save time) if there was such a device. Thanks for your help and if you do happen to find a device in the next couple of days, I'd be grateful if you'd let me know.
