Hello,

I’ve inherited a (cheapo) Ferm FZB-720 table saw which needs a new blade. The existing blade is 200mm x 16mm with 20 teeth but I’m struggling to find any of these at a reasonable price.

Toolstation do 200mm blades with 30mm bore and a 16mm reduction bush:

Is this suitable?

Or would I be better with a 190mm blade that has a 16mm bore?https://www.toolstation.com/shop/Po...sd3137/Toolpak+TCT+Circular+Saw+Blades/p78148

I’m ripping long lengths on timber 18mm thick if that makes a difference?

Both of these are advertised as “circular saw blades” - are they ok to be used in a table saw?

Thank you

I've used blades with a reduction bush many times and have had no problems. The smaller diameter blade will have a slightly less cutting depth, of course.
Circular saw blades and table saw blades are the same.

You need the biggest blade you can get to Fit , have the same machine which I keep for ripping thin short lengths , it’s not suitable for large timber as the blade depth is set around around 25mm and it’s too lightweight and unstable to take large sheets, fence guard is flimsy . But it’s useful for trimming laminate etc and plastics and with a quality blade performs well for the £30 It cost new.( I’ve spent more on blades than it cost).
I secured mine to a lump of MDF to make it more stable .

keep in mind it must be smaller to be compatible with the riving knife if fitted it should be about 0.2 smaller than the knife thickness
also iff a blade is too small in diameter you may find it difficult or impossible to get the maximum 6mm between knife and tooth tip
a say 40 tooth blade will give a cleaner cut yes it will load up the motor more but you can feed the timber accordingly

Thanks for all your replies!

Blade bought, timber ripped and shelves up!

Now it’s time for a beer (y)
