For many reasons we are going to be taking the outer leaf of a gable wall down and re-using the bricks elsewhere. I'm looking for any advice to make this job easier and quicker, so any labour/time saving devices or techniques would be much appreciated.

Guess that about says it, many thanks.

Yeah we have the scaffold ordered, but is there a way of getting the bricks down more easily without chipping them and without carrying them down a couple at a time? I'm thinking hoists, chutes etc, etc. I'm just looking for ways to do the job quicker and more safely (without hand-balling them).

Cheers.

I have hired one that goes up & down, a nice square platform

Where did you hire it from Masona? Any idea what it was called or who it was made by? The builder is saying that one of the most likely ways for the bricks to get chipped and damaged is when they are thrown down and with all the handling, so this might well help.

Many thanks.

It was sometime ago and similar to this one but the one we had was a upright ladder
