Tap Ceramic Disc Cartridge

Hi,

Got a dripping cold tap in kitchen, pulled out the disc cartride and trying to find a replacement. No high street stores stock them so will need to go to a online store. My question is do i need one which meets the exact measurements or will any replacement one do which meets the size of my current one?

Do you live in a hard water area? If so chalk has got between the two ceramic plates of the valve. Just dismantle the valve and soak the ceramic plates in vinegar or lemon juice overnight. Clean it up with a toothbrush and reassemble.
