Hi all

My cold water bathroom tap is behaving strangely. When I turn it on water does flow but as i turn it more hoping the rate of flow to increase it doesn't always do that. It can quicken and then reduce by 75%. I turn it a bit more and it could even stop.

Is there something I can do to resolve this easily?

Thanks

T

take it apart.. clean innards and fit new washer

You'll need to dismantle your tap by:
Turning the water off
Removing the decorative top (maybe a screw in the side, or maybe a screw underneath the plastic insert on the top)
Unscrewing the tap insert from the main tap body, to reveal the rubber washer (probably split or swollen) which is fixed to the tap jumper. Decide whether to just replace the washer or fit a new tap insert if available.
Having done this, turn the tap on again before screwing it back into the tap body, check that it feels to be shutting off, water back on and jobby done!
