During the hot weather we recently have had, some tar like substance looks to have leaked from these supply connectors:

I assume this is not normal in hot weather and I should get the DNO out? What is the correct term for those connectors?

Thanks

Tar will, as you know, melt in hot weather (or hot circumstances).

You should get the DNO out, if only to prevent it making a mess of your path.

Not sure what there called, some sort of Tap off for the Drop cable to the Cut out, but i would guess they will replace them with some sort of terminal wrapped in Heat shrink nowadays, do not attempt to touch them yourself.
i seem to recall a post on here a few years back of a Painter messing with them and blowing it up in his hand
