Teenage mums: are schools to blame?

The answer just cannot be punishment .. Kids in UK get a raw deal ..

How so?

I think the sight of 'feral' groups of teenagers and kids fulltime 'hanging out' is a reflection of our inability to provide .. sensible work experience ... activities .. sports facilities .. Libraries .. etc

There are loads of activities out there for those who are prepared to look and take part. Its the ability of the individual to use their mind etc to entertain, educate and amuse themselves thats in question.

We have the same gangs of kids that hand around. There is a library 10 minutes walk away. There are various out of school clubs and societies. There is a recreation ground with cricket and football clubs. Do they join in, No, they would rather try and set fire to the nearby woods and other properties, or drink themselves silly. Usuall excuses, "theres nothin round here for us to do". When what they really mean is 'nobody is handing it to us on a plate and entertaining us'

They get a raw deal because a fair few parents are no more than kids if not in years then in outlook .. too busy with their 'own toys' .. to be interested in their children ... That is how so.

In the country we had and actually have pretty well SFA in the way of decent facilities for kids or anyone else .... we watched the Bristol rioters end up with loads of gratis facilities .. what message does that send out ? .. oh, sorry forgot .. they were a little different to us....
