Teflon on oil supply line joints.

I need to re route an oil line from tank to boiler with connectors and elbows. I seem to remember not to use PTFE tape, is that right and what alternatives?

You can use PTFE,with or without a liquid sealent

You can use PTFE then coat it with Heldite, Stag, Hawk Red or Rocol Oil Seal. Or use Plumba Thread by Dow Corning.

If using compression or flare fittings, why use either on new fittings?
