Hi,

Is there a simple amateur (i.e. me plus a multimeter) way to test of a bathroom has any supplementary bonding?

There's nothing visible, but the bathroom was only refitted about 2 years ago so maybe there is some bonding going on under the floor..... :?:

I have got a positive result from putting a continuity tester between various points (hot pipe to cold pipe, cold pipe to rad, etc) but is that conclusive?

Given that all circuits in the bathroom (inc lights) are RCD protected, how dangerous is it to not have any bonding? In other words, I know I ought to have it but should I stop using the shower until it has been installed? ;)

Dave.

First off, all supplemantary bonding clamps should be accessible, they may be hidden uner the bath, in the airing cupboard etc.

Using a 'high street' multimeter is not a good test. You need a specialised low ohm reading meter to test between the various metal items. If bonded you will expect to see a resistance of less than 0.1 ohm and you wont get that on a £5 meter!.
