I recently had a texecom 168 installed with 4 8xp zone expanders. (i have 11 motion detectors, 25 magnetic contacts and 2 smoke detectors).
Now i would like to be able to do the following on an external device:

- know the status of each of the detectors
- know if the alarm is armed (or even better know how it's armed: full or partial)
- know if there is an alarm (or better which zone - with the status i know what is tripped exactly)
- arm and disarm the system remotely

The external device would be a raspberry Pi or (if i have to keep waiting for it) my home server.

In the manual i found 2 ways:

- using a plug in communicator: i guess the comIP module of a pc-comm?
- using the digicom outputs: i have 5 times 8 outputs available and maybe i can use the "panel outputs" (1x5) also. (i would make a little pcb using PCF8574 's to get the info to i2c)

I guess that i am not the first one to try this, but it seems that i cannot find specific guidelines for this?

I think that the module is the best way, but which one? Or is the "output" way better?
