Texecom App v2

Hi. I've seen a few threads on the above and it could be that I've missed one along the way but hoping someone can help.

I had v1 and only upgraded to v2 when v1 was discontinued so none of the data seems to have been transferred to v2. Not sure whether I did it correctly but I registered and got an app code off the panel and entered into the app and all logged in. Save that annoyingly on the main menu it says "Hello undefined" instead of saying my name and on the home it states "noname" instead of, say "home".

I know it's not a big problem and everything else is working ok (after hours of looking at manuals and on the internet etc) but it is bugging me. Can anyone help? I don't have any Wintex software if anyone asks as I am just a home user.

I would check that area is set and that you do a panel sync from the app in the first instance.

you may need to change the panel firmware programming so its upto date and update the smart com.

the smart com can be updated via the Texecom cloud account possibly, the panel firmware may not able to done via the Texecom cloud if its below V5.x
 
Thanks. Appreciate your time. As the area would have been set previously (it was fine for v1) I don't understand how it would now not be set. And it says home in the cloud and I have synced panel and cloud and app and panel a few times. Plus when I use the app to control the alarm it says the correct name so it's just the app itself that doesn't seem quite right in terms of the place name and user name. It's just annoying but at least everything else is working!

You were, unsurprisingly, absolutely correct about editing the text for the Area. I'm a bit surprised it wasn't included as there were no issues when it was v1 of the app. (Unless you were able to edit in v1 but as the installer did v1 I have no idea.) But after editing the area as you said and resyncing the name came up. Thank you!

In relation to the name of the user issue, I'm a bit bemused. I checked the name again on the cloud. This time I opened the box and then found an extra space at the start of the name. So I thought I would delete the space and resync and it worked. No idea why the space was in there (it was for both users) and who knew this would cause such an issue but it did. And now it no longer says hello undefined.

Thanks again for your time. I know it was all useable but it was SO frustrating!
