Hi,

I've just recieved the texecom GSM com.

After a bit of testing i got it to work,
Got a few question though.

When i connect the GSM com to com2 and want to set the com port in wintex I got 2 GSM modules to select, the first one seems to be a radio pad? so I selected the second one.

After i tested those I got 2 faults: Com 2 no signal and ATS path fault.
Couldn't get these sorted out but in the morning the errors where gone.

I've recieved a couple of text messages from the alarm but the time and date where all wrong; checked the time and date on the alarm 3x even shows the correct date on the keypad.

The SMS i get is something like this:
22:04.43 18/09 Area A..... Name of the detector Zone 001 Alarm

When I checke the boxes to send me alarm and fire etc, and tested it i didn't got any text messages but when i do a status test on the keypad the sms comes trough.

Any ideas of what I'm not seeing?
Do I need to change baudrate of anything on com2?
I use the usb com on com1

Hi,

All off, as stated in the manual.
Just can't seem to figure out why the date is incorrect and why it doensn't send me alarms.

LEDs are all flashing or on accordingly the manual as OK

One issue I have found is switch one makes the unit not dial if the tamper is open make sure the spring clicks when lid on , or turn off and try it.

Hmm now that you mentioned it, I've reopened the cover from the Com gsm and checked the LED status, All where ok.
I think that's why the error was fixed the morning after.

If tamper the box will send no signal to the panel.

Errors are gone, can't figure out why the date and time isn't correct on the text msg and why it doensn't signal out.

Posted the question on the texecom forum will check back here if i fixed it.

You will find that any old data in the panel even from power up May get sent as a text when you first owner it up. Go to comm port With the gsm on and press reset it will bleep and this should clear out the old data, also if you press the zero key you will see some return arrows and unread ok in the middle . If it is counting down for more than a few mins it's not seeing the unit.

Ensure Dip switch number 1 is set to ON, then the Com GSM will communicate regardless of whether the unit is in tamper or not.

Connect the GSM to COM 1 on the control panel. Select Com Port 1 as GSM Module in the Panel Com Port Options area in the Radio-Pad and Com Port Options tab of the Communication options in Wintex.

On the ARC tab in Communication options of Wintex, make sure as well as having the Enable GSM box checked, you also select Use GSM First.

In the Options tab in Communications options in Wintex, make sure the box for Enable Communicator is checked.

Just further to the above, setting of DIP 1 to ON will clear any ATS Path Faults you have, with the lid closed, if you don't have any faults with DIP switch 1 in the OFF position then there's no need to select it ON. If it's ON, if you were to take the cover off the GSM unit, it won't signal a tamper condition to the panel and the alarm won't go off

Got it sorted out.

The com gsm just needed a good old reset on switch 4,
left switch 1 on and then back off.

Works prop. now.

Thanks!
