Hi there,

Daft question, which I'm struggling to work out how to do: how can you have a zone that is omitted by default, and only included (guard or entry/exit) in a part-arm? I was hoping to set the zone type to "not used" and then set "guard" for attribute 1, but clearly setting the zone in this way completely disables it.

I'm sure there's an obvious way to do this, but I can't find it!

Thanks in advance.

I had this exact same issue due to leaving a dog in a room when I leave during the day whilst in FULL set.

short answer, it can't be done. Zones can only be omitted manually in a FULL set.

long answer, there is a way to do it but involves wiring an output into a zone set to an 'omit key', you need to program every other zone as NOT ommitable, leave the zone you want ommited with the ommitable atribute then set the output as "Area" 22 "Full Armed". When the system does a Full Set, this will cause the Omit Key to activate the zone, shunting any "Omittable" zones.

Thanks, I'm glad I wasn't just missing something obvious.

I might just have the user (my parents!) swap over their main full arm and their night time part arm as this would fix it immediately and allow me to do the omit that they want. Or just add a second part arm would also work.

it maybe possible, would have to have a play.

You can force omit attribute in the zone, then force the zone to remain open before and during the full set only and not the part part set.

The problem is the zone has to be active at the time of setting for the force omit to come into play and remain active for the entire full set.

Agree knowing the why might help with a better solution being provided.

actions have consequences, so you need to check complete behaviour in all scenarios to ensure it works they way you want all the time.

Pretty simple. They have a garage zone, but due to advancing age now have a gardener coming in to mow the lawns when they are out, so they want the garage zone left unarmed when the house is alarmed in its normal "away" state. But they still want the garage armed as normal when they set their "nighttime" program, which is part arm 1. It's now how I'd do it, but it's how they want it.

Having chatted to them last night, I think we'll bring in part arm 2 as a "no garage" option and they can just use that as their default when they are away from home, which they are happy to do.

I do the exact but exclude the kitchen where the dog is during the day when I go out as a FULL set, at night the dog is upstairs so need the kitchen back armed in part arm 1.

I use "auto part arm' so setting the alarm is very simple for the family (only 1 press needed, same button regardless of day or night or just present the tag) and then use an output to fire into a zone programmed as an omit key.

Do you have access to the Texecom forums as I posed this very question with them last year to which their own tech guy come up with the working solution for me.

does the gardener come a fixed day of the week or is it weather dependant.

John Gildert is no longer active on the forum unfortunately, so you may not get the response you once did. with tech savy solutions.

Think that's the best solution and completely flexible and simple for them to follow

although I have customers with similar for dog walkers and they have a code for the area they are allowed to access.
