Agreed, at some point the alarm has gone of and not been reset.

to -12v then. I've seen that fault on a Scanny 9800 - I trapped the strobe neg in the metal case when I closed it.

aint no minus volts either - its DC remember, you probably mean short to 0V


could just as likely be a neighbours house that activated last week and is going to keep flashing till they complete the round the world one legged race they just set off on


just another reason why a a good alarm firm would have either utilised strobe timer (if the panel had one ) or connected it across the bell trigger - even before it became a regulation
