And don't forget that nice Mr Scargill called out his workers without holding a ballot and, in keeping them out for so long, caused health and safety (yes, they had them in those days too) problems due to lack of routine maintenance, which ultimately resulted in the closure of mines which in other circumstances could have continued to be worked.
