That's Venus you can see above the moon right now

Woody is that venus if so im impressed what kind of lens did you use

It was just a normal zoom - 40-150 at 150mm (300mm equivalent). 1/200 at f9 and 100 iso

As it was daytime, I could hand-hold the camera

You should be able to see something similar over the next few days from 3-3:30 pm onwards. Look approximately south and quite high up to find the moon. You might need to stand so that the sun is behind a tree/building/chimney and wait a bit for your eyes to adjust
