All in all it succeeded. The number of deaths was far lower than early predictions when the virus rampaged without anything to stop it. Now we can. What's the problem?

There is a regular push to boost flu vaccine take-up including some NHS trusts offering an additional day off if you have a shot. Just because you might not have noticed pressure doesn't mean it doesn't exist

It's cost effective for the NHS to pay for the vaccines for vulnerable people.

Hospitalisation is very expensive, you only have to avoid a few cases to make the business case for a vaccine work.

Cutting either vaccine would be shortsighted.
