DIY work is an issue in safety to the HSE. Clear.

Clear indeed. Doesn't make it legal though, you must be competant and there is currently only one way to prove competancy.

(Check your posts before posting, I assume you mean 'is not an issue...')

the law does not state that it is legal neither does it state that it is illegal as long as you are competent

Bright spark Kev is the MOD. You are always slow!!!

Everything is legal unless the law states so. Get it Kevvie the Mod? This is beyond your mentality.

The law does not state woodwork is illegal, so it is legal. Get it Kevvie? Duh!! Duh!!

By your logic everything we do is illegal unless the law state so.

by that post must have strained your remaining brain cell

must be hard when your IQ is smaller than your shoe size

NO. They believe that by using the word 'competant'

The HSE said:

"If you look at some of the rest of the report, and contributing consultants reports concerning dangers in the home in general, you will read that in the gas arena, CO poisoning is by far and away the biggest issue, and that all gas related accidents in the home are a tiny proportion of the total. Ergo, DIY gas work is not a major focus area for the HSE at present."

DIY work is an issue in safety to the HSE. Clear.

BTW are you posting this ignorance in your spare time?

You clearly have a superior knowledge of all things DIY Drivel. Something you have no doubt been forced to perfect........... probably since puberty.

Yet another DD attempt at winding everyone up.

Yet another instance of why DD should be banned from this site, clearly encouraging the DIYer to do his own gas work, quite the opposite of the DIYNOT forum advisory rules.

Yet another reason why the mods should stop him, but as the mods know nothing about gas work they don't, but they should obey the forum suggestions, or if not why are they mods.

Yet another point of proof as to who you are DD from the past as you seem to think our Kev is still Mod 2.

When Kev was a mod none of this dangerous c**p would have been tolerated. At least he was trained as an RGI and experienced in gas work.

This is because there are far more potentially dangerous installations than gas by DIY chancer. A perfectly installed unvented cylinder for instance.

perhaps it could be voted on?

DD, none of has stated the DIY gas work is illegal, just that it is unsafe and inappropriate for a DIYer to do so.

Also what happens when the DIYer sells his home? He has then installed gas/appliance for someone else.

How about googling some results of insurance companies not upholding insurance claims do to claim being caued by DIY gas work?

Is a DIYer going to notify his gas work to BC? That is a legal requirement.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Dunno why people have to get personal. If you can't look at the FACTS and accept them then take the debate elsewhere. Simple as that. At the end of the day, plumbing and heating, along with most other trades, requires that the person undertaking that trade has a certain level of competency, an ability to learn new regs as set out by building regs / HSE, follows safety GUIDELINES, works in a safe manner and has pride in his or her work, not just to make a quick buck and move on. If the LAW states that DIY-ing in gas isn't illegal, just not recommended then, unfortunately there isn't much that can be done to stop it. Only when lots of people die through incompetency will something be done.

DD, I hope you are pis**d this Good Friday afternoon, otherwise you really are an embarrassment to yourself, especially as all you are able to do is change posts to quotes as ..
