We have had an open fire for a few years and have been told that the cracks in our wall is due to the chimney the other side of the wall. We are looking to replace open fire (baxi) with a woodburning stove. Will this cure the heat issue? or do we have to take further action to contain the heat? We are also looking at opening up the wall and putting in a double sided woodburner, would this resolve the heat issue with the thermalite blockwork? Thankyou
