I have an old RTS1 thermostat with wires at N (blue) L(brown) and 3 (green). I wish to replace it with an ESRTP4 (NOT wireless). I assume that I should wire the Blue to 1, Green to 2 and Brown to 3 but I need some assurance. Can you help, please?

Brown (live) to Com (2), Green (if it is green) to NO (3). Whatever the colour of your number 3 in existing Drayton - sleeve it brown, or apply brown insulation tape to show it’s being used as a live. Park the Neutral (blue) in terminal strip block (chock block).

The RTS1 is mains powered so it requires a neutral connection. However.....

....the ESRTP4 is battery powered so does not

So as @Chris_W:

The wire in RTS1 N = Not required by ESRTP4 isolate / insulate it and put safely out of the way. Do not connect it to any of the ESRTP4 terminals.

The wire in RTS1 L = ESRTP4 2 COM

The wire in RTS1 3 = ESRTP4 3 NO/ON
