Tiling a curved bath panel

I have a bath with a curved side

and it has a curved plastic side panel which clips on.

The problem is the panel has discoloured, in the light - it's gone yellow-ish, whereas the bath is still white.

We could replace it, but the same thing will happen again, so I was wondering how feasible it would be to make a panel from curved tile-backer board with mosaic tiles on it.

Would work OK/would be tricky but could be done/almost impossible/stupid idea?
