I have just installed a new kitchen and have a new extractor hood to put up. We are thinking of tiling either 3/4 of the wall, or right to the ceiling with a small white brick tile. What I was wondering was; do I fir the extractor to the wall first, and tile around it (it's a square hood so would be easy enough), or do I tile the wall first and then attach the hood?

If we decide to only tile 3/4 of the wall, then I guess this would cause a slight problem with the chimney part having a gap above the tile level that would need sorted.

Thanks.

You've kind of answered your own question.....but

Why not tile up to the bottom of the extractor hood?
