Has anyone any experience in using Velcro pads to secure plyboard to frame prior to tiling.Using 8mm plyboard 1770x475m.m tiles 330x330x7m.m.Will the weight of the tiles pull the board off the Velcro
Why would it look any different if siliconed around the perimeter as usual. Its just a different way of holding the tiled board in place.Have you seen it done?
To be fair, I've never even thought about using velcro - though I don't see why it shouldn't work if you use enough.
You might need one of these to get the panel off though http://www.tools4tilers.co.uk/product.php?xProd=88
Velcro is used to hold some panels on Jumbo Jets . . .
It is used to hold all the external panels on the Strasbourg trams.
With the right type it will hold, you will need to plan how to get it apart though, normally a "knife" is used to slide along the joint and separate the two halves - pulling normally does not work.
I used four screws into the frame, heads covered by caps, to hold mine.
