Hi, i have just painted the whole of my new kitchen with dulux trade supermatt. (A quality paint designed for use on fresh plaster)
When i come to apply a row of tiles or upstand above the kitchen units, can I apply the tile adhesive onto the painted surface or will I need to remove the paint first.
Thanks.

do a tape test...
gaffer tape in strips, place onto painted area, leave 10-20min peel off,if paint comes of then remove it all,if paint stays on then just score the area in question with a stanley blade(key the area)..then fix tiles..
if using a quality tubbed adhesive then this will already have the acrylic primer in it..
if using bagged adhesive then apply a primer proir to fixing tiles.
