cheese on toast takes longer than that to melt the cheese when the elements are less than 5mm away..

for a pizza to cook that fast would mean that if you left it in for 100 seconds it would be black and crispy..

define "proper pizza oven"? big stone ovens or one of the commercial conveyor belts?

Definitions:

1) Proper pizza = very thin base with not much more than a simple tomato, mozzarella and basil topping.

2) Proper oven = wood fired one with a temperature in excess of 370°C/700°F.

And yes, such an oven will cook such a pizza in about 90 seconds.
 
That's not what you would expect from a take-away though.
