I'm in the process of changing my kitchen into a bathroom and wanted to know how to tile over plug sockets. I want to put a plasterboard wall up to tile over as the walls are really messy and tile on the top of the new plasterboard - but there are two double plug sockets in the way..
can I just leave them there, switched off underneath the plasterboard, or will I need to remove them completely?

I would be advisable to completely remove them, especially if they can ever be reconnected and made live again, as this could cause a problem concerning permitted safe zones and terminal joints that can not be inspected for testing reasons.

You should also check on the Building forum about your plan to tile over plasterboard in a bathroom...
