People's ignorance amazes me.

I'm in wicks buying PVA
I step up to the till put the tub on the side

Step back to the blue spot I'm asked. I turn the tub so as the bar code is ready for scanning.. Step back to the blue he repeats himself.

I do because that the way it works. He then picks up the tub to scan.

I say there is no need for you to touch the tub...

He holds his hands up and says I have rubber gloves on... I'm following orders
REALLY...

He then has a melt down and storms off. Do idiots like him think.

I know I have brought this up before What chance do the government have when idiots have no common sense.

rubber gloves are rather pointless in that situation - all he is doing is spreading any contamination from the gloves from one article to the next. they only protect him if he never touches his face and removes the gloves correctly.

gloves used for infection control are used say in hospitals where a nurse is trying to prevent cross contamiation -so they put gloves on, go to the patient an do what they need to do, then they take off the apron and gloves and dispose of them at that bed. then they move onto the next patient, put on new apron and gloves (example used is typical of use for MRSA or C difficil.

If he doesn't touch his face, and removes them correctly, they will provide a degree of protection.

Was he working from behind a plastic screen. All the shops that I've seen here do have plastic screen separation between client and operator.

He was... then he come from behind the screen to pick my tub up....

I had a tissue I then sprayed it when I got to the van.
I may have it for all he knows. He then would serve the woman behind me...

I see in some cases there may be a need to touch. In my case there was not

Was the PVA for an emergency? If not why was you even there, would probably class you as the idiot.

If not why was you even there

Because shops are open for a reason. To do business.
Life goes on buddy.
I walked in to a hardware store today. Sanitised at the door.
Lifted one tin of expanding foam from the shelf and said to the counter bloke put 10 of these down on account.
He scanned it, never touched it and I then lifted the other 9 tins from the shelf and walked out.
Thats how its done safely and efficiently. No need for drama.

I knew you was going to come out with this...

I have a customer who wants to move his mum in with him. So he can look after her. She lives over 20 miles away.

The bungalow is empty
while we do our work. I gave him a weeks notice not to enter the property before we start work.

We are installing a bathroom with high set toilet for ease of use.... Will also be doing a new boiler as that's on the verge of cronking out.

So your the idiot for not asking why in the first place...

Some of us are key workers who need to do our bit tit.
