Timber grades

Redwood and whitewood are both softwoods, but IIRC, redwood tends to have a better grain pattern so looks good for finish work and whitewood for structural, but that's not definitive.

I don't know why they have SW on some of the grades and not others

We tend to see mostly 5th (Scandinavian) redwood for internal Joinery.

Thanks again. For external cladding that's going to be painted, I don't suppose there's much to choose between them then. 5SR for choice, maybe.

You may need to have a look at the two to compare them. You might want to avoid too many dead knots which end up falling out if it's external.
 
Never heard of those grades

Russian and nordic grades go from 1-5 or 1-6 (1=good / 6=bad).

Given that they seem to specialise in shed timbers and trusses, I would get a look at samples as suggested above, in case they are not much good.
