Have fitted timing belts before but wandered if anyone had any tips for this particular engine? Have read up a few forums and as this is the first belt change (51000) on this car only the belt is needed unless I discover water leaks etc. Are any special tools needed or any tips to make the job a little easier. Car is fine at the moment but well past its 5year/54000 1st change......7 years old. Thanks. :) [/quote]

I recommend that the job is done - although the belt isn't particularly stressed on these it is about time.
Tip - the crankshaft pulley bolt is always bloody tight (Gentle heating first releases the locking compound).
The tensioner is automatic. How I wish they all were!
John :)

Thanks for your advice John, thought I might need special tools etc to set up the belt tension, relieved there is an automatic tensioner in there!!javascript:emoticon(':D')
