Uk has always had higher wages and better working conditions that many European countries.
Before, during and after the EU
If only that was true.

working conditions and standard of living is way ahead in the EU countries of similar wealth like Germany, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Sweden, Denmark.

UK has a massive problem with inequality, a massive problem with failing public services, a massive housing crisis.

Thats the result of 40 years of privatisation / neo liberalism

You mean all those rights that made workers unemployable, where you cant sack people so the labour force moved to self employment and zero hours contracts.
Smart move for the workers eh.
Do you know anyone in, say, warehouse production or retail work who is on a zero hours contract? I very much doubt that, because if you did you probably wouldn't make such a crass comment. Legislation was necessary to prevent workers being exploited and it makes workers unemployable, why us it that every other civilised country has such legislation? (Yes, even the USA) You sound like one of those zealots who'd have the working classes go back to the same levels of pay, conditions and poverty that they have in India

No tomatoes in tesco this morning, no turnips either, plenty of coffey

Blup

Moving the goalposts now notchy. It's bad enough with one contrairian on thwarting discussion without you joining in.
The fact of the matter is employers can bypass the red tape involved in employing people directly.

Do you mean nit picker,?

For many people at the lower end of the wage scale zero hours contracts are very bad news. Not knowing how much you'll earn in a given week makes for a hand to.mouth existence in what is supposedly a rich country

Why so many food banks in some of those countries in that case?

Typo yes it was nit picker which you knew it was. The o is next I easy done.
I agree with you about zero hours contracts, you could also throw into the mix agency workers.

Perhaps filly thinks it is due to an EU law that he is unable to name.

One that exists only in his head.
