Sorry in advance if stupid question! I recently had to top up the pressure in my Ideal Mini HE combi boiler. When doing so the plastic top up tap snapped, leaving the screw in place. It seems that the control (underneath the tap), which releases the top up water, is just a square nut, so I have tightened this so hopefully it will not leak.

My question is how easy is it to buy another tap? Would I be able to just unscrew the old screw, put new tap on, then reattach screw again? Are they all one standard fit?

Thanks for reading and hopefully not laughing!

You may find that a plastic top from a washing machine fill valve will fit the bill, Sarah - what you've discovered isn't exactly unknown!
Post a pic if you can and someone with a brain will know for sure.
John :)
