And of course we could have followed Ukraine and the other nations that either folded or did as they where told.
Hitler wanted an alliance with Britain, he didn't want to fight us.
Where the thanks
@ConnieR for what this little Island did for the world?
What did you have in mind?
Something like these:
The Irish Great Famine (1845–1852)
India (Famines and Deindustrialization)
The Partition of India (1947)
The Mau Mau Rebellion in Kenya (1952–1960)
The Boer War Concentration Camps (1899–1902)
The Opium Wars (1839–1860)
Indigenous Atrocities in Australia and Tasmania
The Malayan Emergency (1948–1960)
The Amritsar (Jallianwala Bagh) Massacre (1919)
and the Cover-ups and Archival Destruction that have hidden multiple atrocities over the years.
No doubt there will now be multiple excuses, denials and diversions because the truth is too hard to bear.
As I said, how easily the country forgets its history.
Didn't I read in these forums, very recently, how those whose opinions don't fit the facts prefer to change the facts to fit their opinions, rather than change their opinions to fit the facts?
How true!
