No, not folk who keep others fit, I'm referring to those things that go on your feet ;)

When I don't need to be suited and booted, I wear trainers all the time when out and about.

I suppose when I was younger, I tended to opt for the big brands although I've never been in the habit of buying expensive trainers.

More recently, I bought a pair of Fila's for £30ish quid. That was about 8 years ago! They were starting to look a bit tired so I've recently replaced them ... with another pair of Fila's costing £30ish quid. They'll hopefully keep me going for another 8 or so years!

I'm far from being a trainers snob. As long as they look half decent and are comfortable, I couldn't care less. I have a mate who buys quite expensive trainers, lots of pairs. Some of them he hardly wears. I just think 'why?' but each to their own.

So when it comes to trainers, what category are you? Trainers snob? The cheaper the better? Or somewhere between?

Lot of the time when not having to look too smart I wear black leather trainers. They don't look like chav hood-wear, but still have the comfort of trainers. Currently sporting a pair of Fred Perrys. Don't pay more than 40 quid on the Bay. Not a brand snob, just something reasonable quality. The Perrys are 6 months old but have done a lot of miles already and still no visible wear on sole.

Never skimp on good shoes, or socks.

I spend most of my days in work boots. Never the same pair (boots or socks) 2 days running.

Trainers. Any that fit well and are comfortable

Doesn't have to be a famous brand, but I tend to find that once you find a brand (any) that you like it's good to stick with them.

As part of my wife's work she has to inspect the feet of people with diabetes (i know )

She goes on a lot of courses and apparently sketchers are one of the worst trainers for foot support etc....

Nike for athletic pursuits. I have a couple or three pairs.

Adidas Jeans for standing in the pub, or general wandering around.
I have four or five pairs of those.

I never knew that, I love sketchers as they are so comfortable. OMG I hope I don't get diabetis now through wearing them.

I used to wear trainers a lot, but haven't worn them for many years. Slobbing around the place, I wear some canvas topped slip-ons. My feet are wide, and find it difficult to get a comfortable fit, usually a size bigger, and proper, leather shoes. The past few years, I've settled on Clarks shoes, and lace-ups. The best, most comfortable fit I have ever had. I've a pair of brogues, and a pair of plain, simple black ones.

In the 'shoe cupboard', I must have 20 to 30 pairs, of shoes, trainers, flip-flops, slippers etc., but my go-tos are the Clarks, for all day comfort.

Adidas for me.

They also do half sizes.
This time round a half size would have been ideal for the style I bought. I'm having to use all the lace holds right up to the top as the trainers are slightly too big (I normally leave the top holes unused so I can slip the trainers on/off) to stop them slipping.

I used to wear trainers but at a point many years ago I decided not to - I prefer slip-on shoes for most of the time now. Clarks are good, as Harry says.

I can only wear Adidas or rebook unfortunately.
The many injuries during my life have made my feet and ankle very needy.
I wear trainers 90% of the times.
Get through them in less than 6 months due to walking, running and basically doing everything in them.
3 pairs on the go: one for gym and running, one for mountain biking and one for general wear.
More formal shoes are leather boots handmade in Italy.
For casual look, plain black leather Adidas trainers.
Very occasionally I wear my trusty Timberland boots, don't know why I don't more often considering they're comfortable.
I used to swear by Clarks shoes until about 15 years ago when their quality went downhill.
Overall, trainers are the best.
