hi there
I excavated a trench( 3mx45cmdepth x30cm width ) for concrete footing lastweek.it is now half full of rainwater.Would that be a problem with just removing the water and fill it with concrete .Please advise me .Thanks

You should remove any soft and loose clay/soil from the bottom of the trench. This can be difficult if saturated and is usually better to drain the trench and leave it to dry for a day or two. Does the BI need to inspect? If so they can be a bit tetchy about the quality of the clay at the bottom of trenches.

Once you have taken out the loose material, you could put in a layer of dry lean concrete mix. But best to speak to your BCO who will have his own preferences.
