trend TE5 router issue

Has anyone got any idea why a TE5 should cut out intermittently? not under any great load, I'm thinking it could be a faulty thermal cut out or something to do with the speed control, anyone had the same problem and managed to sort it out?

Just before you get stuck in, switch the machine on and waggle the mains cable where it enters the machine - just in case there's any wire fracture.

And check the plug end as well, and the connections inside the plug.
