Hi all,

I wondered if someone could help me with finding a solution to my shower problem please?
I have a Triton Rapide R2 which has been installed for approx. 2 years or so.
It has 3 heat settings (cold, warm & hot) plus a temperature control setting.
It runs fine on cold & warm but as soon as the hot seting is selected, it trips out.
I've tried replacing the Thermal cut out but still the same.
Any ideas?

I had a thought that it could be limescale in the system but unsure how I could flush/descale the heater can??

Any help would be great.
Cheers,
Andy

is it tripping the main fuse ?

more likely a heating element has failed.
do a resistance test with a multi meter on both the elements.
you should get a reading of 10-18 ohms each pair.

is this the same fault you had in 2009 ?

It is tripping the main fuse, yes.
It runs ok on warm but it trips the mains fuse even when switching it off.

I replaced an old shower around 2009, come to think of it, it may have been a similar problem.
