Hello,
When running my shower for five minutes it just stops. The Power indicator light remains on. When I try it again after twenty minutes it works again.Could it be the pump or is there anything else I could check?

Craig.

depends if it has a pump or not.

Is it electrically heated internally, or is it fed with hot and cold?

Is it definitely fed from the mains water - it could be it's accidentally been hooked up to a cold water tank, and after 5 minutes it's drained it or something?

If it was running out of water I would expect it to have some form of low pressure light that would come on.

I would say more likely it is scaled up and overheating.

It's unlikely that it's been plumbed into the header tank..

I did it once (god knows why - the cold mains was right beside it) doh,, and it never ran right from the beginning

If you have an 8.5kw shower then it does not have a pump, just a heating element, flow valve and maybe a solenoid.

TBH they are not worth the time and effort it'd take to fix it,, just replace it

BUT check you do not have the same problem at your cold taps before you do

This is a symptom of a faulty solenoid - there's a break in the windings that only shows itself when it's been running for a while.

New solenoids are readily available and easy to fit.

If I were you I'd buy a new Amber III and use it for spares. That way you'll have a spare can, spare riser rail bits, spare hose, handset etc.
